Frequently Asked Questions

Booking and Payment

Q. How can I pay?

A. Bank Transfer (Faster Payments or BACS), cheque, paypal or credit/debit cards subject to a 3.4% surcharge. We ask for a £200.00 deposit when booking and payment of the balance in full at least 6 weeks before your arrival date.

Q. Why do I have to pay a damage deposit?

A. Payment of a cleared and traceable deposit (not cash) is a requirement of the insurance company. The deposit covers the cost of any damage to the vehicle whilst it is in your possession and pays the insurance excess in the event of an accident over the amount of the damage deposit. The damage deposit is £750 for bongos and budget motorhomes and £1,000 for premium motorhomes.

Q. When do I get the deposit back?

A. Once we have inspected the campervan/motorhome and confirmed there is no damage or excessive cleaning required. This is normally within 7 days of safe return of the motorhome. If there is damage, it may take longer to assess repair costs and return the balance of the deposit, but we won't hold your deposit for any longer than necessary.

Q. What information will you need when I book?

A. A copy of your driving licence (card part and DVLA driver record pdf/check code), passport and two recent (dated within the last 3 months) utility bills or bank statements showing your home address. You can e-mail copies when booking and show us the originals when you pick the motorhome or bongo up. We'll also need a signed booking form and a non-refundable booking deposit of £200 to secure your booking.

Q. What age requirements are there for drivers?

A. Any age between 23 and 70 is permitted by our insurers as standard and with standard premiums and excess. However, the insurers will often insure other drivers either at a surcharge or subject to the hirer agreeing to a larger excess. All drivers are subject to approval by our insurers.

Q. Are points on my license and accidents a problem?

A. It depends how many! Generally up to two three point convictions for speeding are no problem and only cost £10 per driver per 3 points per hire extra. Hirers must not have had more than 1 accident in the last three years. There is a charge of £10 per hire per driver with an accident in the last three years. Please contact us before booking if you do not meet the above criteria, as there may be a larger insurance surcharge and in exceptional circumstances we may not be able to hire to you if we can not obtain insurance that covers you to drive.

Q. How can I book?

A. Check availability on our availability page and e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further information or to book.

Q. How much deposit do you require & what is your cancellations policy?

A. A non-refundable 20% deposit (minimum £200) is payable within 48 hours of booking to secure your booking. The balance is due not less than 6 weeks prior to departure. We regret we are not able to offer refunds of hire charges in the event of cancelation within 6 weeks of departure unless we are able to re-book the motorhome for the dates you were due to travel at the same rates. We recommend you take out travel insurance to cover the cost of your hire should you have to cancel within 6 weeks prior to departure.

On Holiday

Q. Are pets welcome?

A. Yes – in selected vehicles and we don’t charge extra. However, you are responsible for returning the vehicle in a satisfactory state of cleanliness and paying any additional cleaning charges that are necessary (if any).

Q. What if I breakdown?

A. All our vehicles are well maintained, serviced and MOT'd (where applicable) so hopefully you won’t! If you do, breakdown cover is included in the cost of your holiday. If it isn’t possible to get you going again within 2 working days, we will refund the balance of your hire fee.

Q. Where can I go?

A. Anywhere in England, Wales and Scotland. We can also arrange hires to Europe - an insurance surcharge of £49 per week or part thereof applies. Our vehicles are popular for campsites or festivals alike. A list of campsites in the UK can be found on www.ukcampsite.co.uk. You may wish to book a campsite in advance, particularly during peak season.

Q. Can your campervans and motorhomes be taken to Europe?

A. Yes, subject to approval by our insurers and payment of an insurance surcharge of £49 per week. All UK hires come with unlimited mileage. For hires to Europe a mileage limit may apply depending on the length of your hire.

Q. Do Motorhomes come with gas bottles?

A. Yes. The number and type of bottles varies from vehicle to vehicle. All vehicles will be supplied with at least one gas bottle containing some gas to get you started and should be returned likewise (it is not possible to top up part used bottles - they are exchanged when empty). Vehicles fitted with two bottles will be provided with one full bottle and one part used bottle and should be returned likewise. There is a charge of £25 for each 6kg bottle returned empty and £30 for each 13kg bottle returned empty. Calor gas bottles can be exchanged at many campsites and petrol stations in the UK. Getting refills abroad is difficult as Calor gas isn't readily available on the continent, so take what you need when travelling to Europe!

Q. Are motorhomes hard to drive?

A. No, as long as you remember you are driving something a bit bigger than a car and adapt your driving accordingly - and of course avoid height restricted car parks and low bridges etc. The motorhome will cruise at 60mph on the motorway with ease and return about 25 mpg which is very economical for a vehicle of its size.
